Similar to Phase I, this building’s second floor was also lifted up and the first floor removed and replaced with new wood stud walls – only this time the top plate (ceiling) height was raised 36” from 7’-0” to 10’-0”. The existing foundation and floor were also removed, and replaced with an updated footing and radiant floor slab. The existing 2nd floor dwelling unit was maintained and updated, while on the first floor, two new dwelling units were added. Kari Johnson, well-known local artist and resident at EBHC, was in charge of both Phase I and Phase II, including demolition, construction, and design.
