| Parish “TreeHouse”
Not technically a “treehouse” since it isn’t attached to a tree or other “woody perennial plant”, this small retreat is nonetheless up amongst the branches and leaves, giving it a playful and whimsical quality. Having just moved to town from the big skies of wild Wyoming, the owner’s vision was to create a minimal, yet graceful space for meditation and spirituality; a studio to compliment the main house – detached yet connected by an elevated, narrow catwalk. Built on four heavy-timber “pilotis” to reduce the impact on the site, regeneration of natural vegetation is promoted on the ground below. Daylighting is maximized by skylights and window placement.
