Located on an organic farm near the McKenzie River, the owner/builder needed a bigger house to accommodate their growing family.  The old garage was demolished, and a new two-story addition, along with a two-bay carport, is currently being built in its place.  The 1,327 sq. ft. addition will house a shop, family room, library, two bedrooms, and a bathroom, along with a mudroom/laundry “connection” to existing house.  Self-milled lumber from sustainably-harvested trees will be used in the construction.  Other environmentally-sensitive components to be used are BioBased Insulation, natural daylighting, non-toxic finishes, and energy and water-efficient fixtures and appliances.
