Lakeview Grocery

This project consists of the rebuilding of a mom-and-pop neighborhood market that was lost to a fire in May, 2007. Located alongside Triangle Lake in the Lake Creek Valley, a 45 minute drive west of Eugene, the new market is to be bigger and better while still maintaining a traditional “country store” feel. Excavation is currently under way, and it turns out that it’s nothing but solid rock (!); from a structural standpoint (not an excavation one), it couldn’t be better.

The original store was single-story, but the new one will be two: the first floor to house the market, a walk-in cooler, and a small kitchen; while the second floor will be light-storage – it is being constructed so as to provide a space for optional use in the future while capturing the great view over the lake. The construction can’t happen quickly enough, as the community is longing for the return of their neighborhood hub!
