McKenzie Waters

McKenzie Waters is a rebuild born out of loss, persistence, and an extraordinary amount of determination. The original family home — along with priceless heirlooms, artwork, and years of memories — was lost in the 2020 Holiday Farm Fire. Within weeks, the owners had hired us and secured a builder, hoping to move quickly and begin the long road home. What followed was anything but simple: COVID, supply-chain problems, material shortages, unavailable subcontractors, difficult jurisdictional requirements, insurance battles, and more. Through it all, the owners kept going. The result is a deeply personal new home rooted in resilience, family, and the beauty of the McKenzie River setting. We were honored to help bring this project to life, and grateful that McKenzie Waters was recognized with an AIA Oregon People’s Choice Award for Residential Design.
