Deschutes River Homes

A blast from the past. Nearly 30 years ago, we camped out along the Deschutes River at South Junction and built a pair of long houses we had designed for this beautiful high desert setting. Before the new homes could take shape, the old tired homestead houses were removed, making way for a fresh start on the land. The project was hands-on in every sense — design, building, camping, problem-solving, and bringing the work to life one day at a time. Looking back, Deschutes River Homes is a reminder of the joy, grit, and adventure that can come with making places from the ground up.
