In March of 2018, my wife, youngest son, and I volunteered to travel to Mexico as part of GAGA — Give Away Get Away — through Eugene Friends Church. Over the course of about a week, our group worked in the hot sun to help build four houses for local families in need of secure housing.
This was not a traditional architecture project, but it was a meaningful reminder of why shelter matters and how much can be accomplished when people come together with a shared purpose. If you’d like to learn more, our son put together a short video documenting the trip and the work behind it.
