After about a year of designing, engineering, securing a builder, and permitting on this new custom house for a family of four, we also couldn’t be happier that construction is now all buttoned-up as well! It’s 3,300 SF of heated space with a full daylight basement, along with a 800 SF of unheated garage and storage. As per the owner’s wishes, the overall architectural aesthetic is fairly traditional with good proportions, dug into the hill it sits on to give it a more modest and graceful front approach. More contemporary details abound, such as a broad, covered, outdoor living area; cable-rail at upper deck and exterior stair; high, vaulted interior ceilings with skylights; a big laundry room; a 4’ x 14’ long kitchen island; and many modern finish materials. Woot!
