The Big House

The Big House began with loss, after David’s original home on the same site was destroyed by fire. With only a treasured family heirloom surviving, the project became much more than a new house — it was a chance to rebuild, recover, and get life moving forward again. David had four clear wishes for his new home: a gourmet kitchen, a Tulikivi heater with a pizza/bread oven, a wraparound deck large enough for serious outdoor entertaining, and unobstructed views of the beautiful surroundings. He also wanted it all wrapped up in the spirit of a traditional farmhouse with a modern twist. Boom — here you go, sir. We even added a Le Corbusier-inspired whimsical window wall in the primary bedroom, creating a celestial play of natural light. When David told us he absolutely loved his new house, it was music to our ears.
